John Michael Montgomery 约翰-迈克尔-莽特高莫瑞在1965年一月二十日出生于肯塔基州的丹威尔。 1993 他的第一张专集《生命是一次舞会》一年就创了卖出一百万的纪录，排在新歌手的榜首，从而奠定了他在乡村音乐圈的地位。他的很多首歌曲都上过排行榜的首位，比如 《我爱你就像你爱我一样》、《我发誓》、《今夜做我的宝贝》、《如果你有爱》等。其中《我发誓》在1994年 被四合一男声合唱组成功翻唱，产生轰动效果，连续十一周（几乎三个月）列排行榜首位。
